The Challenge
Mirosuna is a luxe mindfulness and meditation studio based in South Melbourne. Despite a loyal client base and outstanding reviews, its organic search presence was fragmented and failing to capture the local demand that existed for its services.
Measured against the three closest competitors in the Melbourne corporate wellness and meditation category, Mirosuna started last of four on search visibility: 2.94% against a category leader on 13.31%.
The Approach
The strategy was built around topical authority: search engines reward sites that demonstrate comprehensive, expert coverage of a subject, not just individual keyword rankings. For Mirosuna that meant a content architecture covering every dimension of mindfulness, meditation, sound healing and corporate wellness a potential client might search for.
- Keyword Cluster Mapping: The target keyword universe was organised into tightly themed clusters: sound meditation, corporate wellness, NDIS mindfulness, meditation for anxiety and more. Each cluster was assigned a pillar page and supporting content.
- Content Production: A publishing cadence was established to build out each cluster systematically. Content was written to satisfy both search intent and genuine reader value: substantive guides, not thin keyword pages.
- Local SEO: Google Business Profile was fully optimised, local schema markup implemented, and a review acquisition strategy put in place to strengthen local pack presence for high-intent "near me" searches.
- Structured Data: Schema was deployed across service and article templates so machines could parse what each page was about, who wrote it, and what it answered.
The Results
Across the tracked period, Mirosuna's search visibility rose from 2.94% to 17.15%, moving it from last to first in the competitive set. Of 246 tracked keywords, 160 now rank: 31 at position 1, 49 in the top three, 77 in the top ten.
The decisive shift was in AI Overviews. Mirosuna is now cited as a source in 29 AI Overview answers across the tracked set. The nearest competitor holds four. Those 29 citations are served by just nine existing pages: the corpus the content programme had already built.
What Actually Happened
Honesty matters more than a bigger number, so it is worth being precise about the mechanism. The step change lands in early July and coincides with a confirmed Google update that expanded AI Overview coverage. Mirosuna did not ship anything that week. No new pages were published to cause it.
What changed is which content Google reached for. When the answer box widened, it selected pages that already existed, were already indexed, and already covered the topic in depth. The three competitors were subject to exactly the same update: two gained modestly, and one lost ground, falling from 4.96% to 1.88%.
That is the case for topical authority in the generative era. The rollout was not the strategy; being the site worth citing when it arrived was.
How this is measured: figures are Semrush Position Tracking visibility, a weighted score across the 246 keywords in Mirosuna's tracked competitive set, 27 May to 29 August 2026. It measures share of the SERP real estate for those terms, not sitewide sessions. Total site traffic did not move by the same multiple over this window.
